Founded in 2013 by Anuschka Schurr, Anuschka’s Kitchen was born from a deep-rooted passion for the culinary arts, nurtured from childhood and shaped by diverse family meals. Her journey into hospitality began in high school, where she gained early management experience. She later honed her skills at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island, followed by the Colorado State University Restaurant and Resort Management Program. With hands-on experience in quick service, fine dining, private clubs, and specialty establishments, Anuschka discovered that working as a personal chef allowed her to blend all her expertise into curated, personalized dining experiences.

In 2015, John Hensley—her then-partner, now husband—joined the team, bringing his extensive hospitality background. A trained chef through the American Culinary Federation and Louisiana Restaurant Association, John’s career spanned both front- and back-of-house management in various establishments. Notably, he helped bring the Margaritaville concept to New Orleans, later consulting for Lulu’s Sunset Grille in Alabama and Margaritaville in Key West.

Together, this husband-and-wife team combines decades of experience in hospitality, culinary arts, and restaurant management. Their expertise in dietary restrictions, global cuisines, and customized meal experiences makes them a perfect fit for those seeking a private, chef-driven dining experience at home.
