1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide when creating an account, including your name, email address, and role (Host or Provider). Providers may also provide business information, profile photos, and service details. We collect event details submitted through booking requests. We also collect usage data, such as the pages you visit, how you use the Platform, and the browser and device you use. Section 7 explains how we collect it, including through Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to operate and improve the Platform, facilitate connections between Hosts and Providers, process payments through our payment processor (Stripe), send transactional communications such as booking confirmations and quote notifications, and provide customer support.
3. Information Sharing
We share limited information between Hosts and Providers to facilitate bookings, such as event details and contact information. We share payment information with Stripe to process transactions. We don't sell your personal information for money. We do share some information with Google and Meta for analytics and advertising, as described in section 7. We may share information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.
4. Payment Information
Payment processing is handled by Stripe. YesChef Booking does not store credit card numbers or bank account details on our servers. Stripe's privacy policy governs the handling of your payment information.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard practices. We use Supabase for data storage with row-level security policies, and all communications are encrypted via HTTPS. While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
6. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us. You may delete your account, which will remove your profile and personal information from the Platform. Some information may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
7. Cookies, Analytics & Advertising
We use tools from Google and Meta to see how people find and use YesChef Booking, and to measure and run our advertising. Some of these tools place cookies in your browser. Google and Meta also use some of what they collect for their own advertising, including ads you may see on other websites and apps.
This section explains what each tool collects, how long its cookies last, and how you can limit it.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser so it can recognize that browser on a later visit.
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and manage your session. We don't use them for analytics or advertising. The analytics and advertising cookies described below are set by Google's and Meta's code running on our site.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics shows us how people use the site. When you visit, it collects the pages you view, your activity during the visit, your device and browser, the site or link that brought you here, and your approximate location.
Google Analytics sets its own cookies on our site, listed in the table below. We have also turned on Google Signals, an advertising feature of Google Analytics. With Signals on, Google connects this analytics data to the Google accounts of people who are signed in to Google and have allowed Google to personalize their ads. It uses its advertising cookies together with our Analytics cookies to do this. We use Signals for cross-device reports in Google Analytics. Google uses it to recognize the same person across devices and to personalize the ads it shows, so this data serves Google's advertising as well as our reporting.
Google explains how it uses information from sites that use its services at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. You can limit this through Google's ad settings or the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out, both listed under Your choices below.
Google Ads
The Google Ads tag loads on pages across our site. It records the pages you view and notes when you arrive at our site from one of our Google ads. We may also use it to show our ads to people who have visited our site. When a booking is paid, it records that the payment happened so we can tell which of our ads led to bookings. With that record, it sends the amount of the YesChef Booking Fee on that booking, in US dollars. It doesn't send the booking total. The record also includes a booking reference number: a random code that we can match to your booking, but Google can't. The tag uses Google's advertising cookies to do this.
Meta Pixel
The Meta Pixel is code from Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram. It loads on pages across our site. It records each page you view, and three actions: viewing a provider's profile, starting checkout, and completing a booking.
Each time, it sends Meta the page, what happened, your device and browser, your IP address, and cookie identifiers. When you complete a booking, it also sends the amount of the YesChef Booking Fee on that booking, in US dollars. It doesn't send the booking total. Third parties, including Meta and Google, use cookies and similar technology on our site to measure and target ads. Meta uses the Pixel's data both to measure our ads and to decide which ads to show, including to you. Meta handles this information under its own Privacy Policy.
Records we keep ourselves
Two records stay in our own database. We don't send either one to Google, Meta, or any other advertising or analytics company.
When someone views a provider's profile, we log the page, the page they came from, any campaign tags in the link, and their browser and device information. The log doesn't include an IP address or any identifier for the viewer, and it isn't connected to anyone's account.
When you create an account, or later set up a provider profile, we save how you arrived at the site on that visit: the source, medium, and campaign from the link you followed, and the page you landed on. This is stored with your account or your provider profile. Until then, these details sit in your browser's session storage, which clears when you close the tab.

Your choices
You can limit this tracking with the tools below. Google, Meta, and industry groups run them, not us, and each works on its own terms.
- Google. You can turn off personalized ads in Google's ad settings. That changes the ads Google shows you. To stop Google Analytics from collecting your visits to any site, Google offers a browser add-on.
- Meta. You can change how Meta uses information from sites like ours in your ad preferences.
- Industry opt-outs. The Network Advertising Initiative and the Digital Advertising Alliance's YourAdChoices let you opt out of interest-based ads from participating companies.
- Your browser. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Doing so stops the cookies above from being set. Blocking cookies doesn't stop these tools from receiving basic information, such as your IP address and the page you visited, when a page loads. It also doesn't affect the two records we keep ourselves, since neither uses cookies.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. We will notify users of significant changes via email. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
